The classes selected in a trademark application define the scope of protection. Broad class lists that do not reflect actual use increase opposition risk and can lead to a revocation request for non-use.
Core classes covering current activities can be considered separately from areas planned for the next three years. The second group should be included only where there is a concrete commercial plan.
Evidence of earlier use also matters in opposition proceedings. Invoices, catalogues, advertising records and domain history should be kept together.
