Distance selling in e-commerce

Pre-contract information, the right of withdrawal, promotional messaging and returns are the points for online shops to check.

In e-commerce, consumer law compliance often depends on the design of the purchase flow. Which screen presents the disclosures, in what order, and how acceptance is confirmed are decisive in an audit.

The pre-contract information form and the distance sales agreement should be presented separately, with confirmation recorded. Flows where every document is accepted with a single checkbox are weak as evidence.

If an exception to the right of withdrawal is relied on, it should be stated clearly on the product page. In campaigns, the reference price and the campaign period should be given accurately.
